The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has risen from its humble
beginnings as a local youth ensemble over half a century ago to become one of
the nation's major orchestras. Under the late Robert Shaw, the ensemble gained
prominence. Current music director Yoel Levi presides over an expansive season
as well as the orchestra's recordings for the Telarc label. Here's a selected
