The Swamp Queen has gone …
Katie Webster, the swamp queen of piano players, passed away on Sunday 5 September at her home in Texas.
She made some fine CDs for Alligator Records and enjoyed much greater success
in Europe than in the US. She was also in Otis Redding's band for some years
prior to his death in 1967.
