"Great Book..." The Lonely Traveler
"Fruteland Jackson is a rare find among today's authors who provide music
instruction for beginners. This 1950s born African-American blues artist may be
alone in establishing a beachhead in this blues genre by presenting the blues
in music text from the ground up. What makes this book effective is how it
draws you into the Mississippi Delta region; easily defining musical terms, the
use of trivia as it relates to the music history of Delta blues and the delta
region. The book orientates the reader in a unique way using history,
photographs, diagrams and songs to initiate students into the Delta blues style.
These exercises can be compelling when heard on accompanying CD"...
