Alice In Chains - Nothing Safe - The Best Of The Box
Grade: B
By Jess Redmon

Alice In Chains helped to define 90s rock with the grunge movement, along side Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees, Muhoney and other important Seattle institutions. In their pseudo-best of collection, which previews a box set in the making, Alice In Chains collect some of their best work, some new additions and live material. Included is the first single, "Get Born Again," a new track which represents AIC in the sound of their glory days of "Facelift" and "Dirt." This best of collection is for the hardcore fans and the people who have never bought an AIC record. Included are some of their best tracks ("Man In The Box," "Down In A Hole," "Would?"), as well as a live version of "Rooster" from the BBC, the original demo for "We Die Young" and the classic "What The Hell Have I" from the not-so-classic movie "Last Action Hero." Alice In Chains have put out some of the best rock songs in the 90s and "Nothing Safe - The Best of the Box" shows how important Alice In Chains have been. Although there really isn't anything too impressive on here that isn't on their records, a good representation of a great rock band.
